I recently re-worked my boom (1997) call me directly for assistance. 248-529-3573?home? 248-684-8070 work. I learned a lot in the process.

Right now, my reefing line goes through the boom, through the reefing point
in the leech, back through the boom, and ends with a hook that either can be
attached to the tack or the forward reefing point. This doesn't work well
at all. The owners' manual shows a single block inside the mast that I
don't know if I have, and it shows a tack hook that I definitely don't have.

I thought that the floating block in the boom that gives 3:1 purchase or
mechanical advantage was for the outhaul.
In2001 #851 that line is reeved to the center block boom block
Our reefing line goes straight thru the boom and used the port side boom
block.
There is a messenger cord in the starboard side boom block for a second
reefing line
