[C320-list] Water tank inspection cap/port

Jack, et. Al - We do the same on the water use (dishes, washing, not
drinking), and we have recently had a problem with only the hot water
getting skunked - nasty rotten egg odor after just a few weeks. I used
"Purclean" treatment on the water system when re-filling in late August,
and water was only in for maybe 4 or 5 weeks - cold water seems fine, no
odor , etc. but the hot is rancid. Anyone else had this issue with the
water heater tank ? Any preventive ideas ? - Jamie

Martin:

Our inspection caps have always unscrewed easily -- but we never drink
the
water. We use it to wash and wash dishes, etc.

When we fill the tanks, my wife puts about a half cup of bleach in each
one
to prevent the buildup of scum and ugly floaties. It works. Any boat
we've
had developed the cruds unless treated. Some people use vodka.
