[C320-list] autohelm

Jack,

If you have a 4000 (black model) Raymarine will not fix it. I spoke to a
tech and he said to bring it up to NH and he would look at it. I took it up
the next day and another tech said they would not look at it. They said it
was not only retired but obsolete. After my frustration of being told one
thing and taking the time to drive an hour away I reluctantly bought a
MKII...

Regards,

Holly:

AHA! We have a similar problem with our Raymarine 4000. About every third
time we use it -- and I mean every third time on the same passage -- the
belt fails to disengage when I disengage the clutch lever. I find that I can

solve the problem (temporarily) by tightening the hex bolt that holds the
clutch lever in place. It takes a metric hex wrench. I plan to take the
whole wheel assembly off and bring it to Raymarine.

Hello,
I am still having trouble with my auto pilot. It is an older (pre 2001)
ST4000. The clutch lever does not stay engaged and pops up almost
immediately. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. All the manual
says is I need to send it in to a Raymarine dealer as it needs a special
tool to adjust the belt.
