Thanks Jeff...I've had the black dots on them for a while--anticipating that
they would break at the worst possible time ;) I'll try replacing with the
sail on the boat...

Jon, Here's my trick.   When the sail is flaked normally,  use a black
marker to make a dot on the face of the dutchman disks that face up.  This
way you can thread the lines with the sail flaked on the boom. The marks
help you be sure to feed the line UP through each disc and out the side with
the dot.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the best way to replace the lines? I
still have the original lines and plan on replacing them this weekend. Since
I plan on putting the sails on this weekend J I was wondering if it is
easier to rethread the new lines before the sail goes on or before?? Any
suggestions would be appreciated!

 

I'm obviously in the pro-dutchman camp-in my opinion the only better option
I have experienced is a furling boom, but that will have to wait until my
next boat..
