Many of the deck fittings are attached to backing plates laminated into the
fiberglass.

If the bolts sheered off then it seems to me that the backing plates did
their jobs.

Dear 320 Owners List
 
Just discovered the the bolts holding the bow pulpit to the hull do not have
backing
 nuts / washers.  The 1/4" bolts were simply screwed into and through the
deck.
 
Discovered this when replacing forward most bolts on bow pulpit as they were
sheered off.
 
Any comments please ??
