[C320-list] Exhaust elbow

Holly,

That's probably sound advise. The exhaust elbows do get restricted with carbon and that can reduce engine power a lot.

They also corrode and can start to leak at inopportune times and ruin a trip.

I recently had my mechanic replace my salt water pump and change the oil and filters and just check the engine out. He felt there was "excessive" back pressure and thought I my exhaust elbow needed cleaning or a I needed a new exhaust elbow. Does this sound like the culprit and how hard is it to clean out or replace. I was thinking of trying to do this myself, having way more time than $. I have a 1995 320 with a with a Westerbeke 30 engine. Any info will be appreciated.Holly"HONU"
