[C320-list] Seating Chain Plates

Can anyone give me some guidance on reseating the chain plates ? My boat is
a 2001 and beginning to see some minor evidence of potential leaking on 1
unit, so over the winter months here in NC I might be able to gather enough
good days to work on this project. What seems to be concerning to me is
breaking loose the plate in the cabin thus releasing it up top.
Thank you
