Which type of freon do you have. Your old unit may not be compatible with new condenser. I just purchased a new condenser and compressor from adler barbour. If I were to do it again I might look at other brands. A month after the new installation the new unit stopped freezing. Upon inspection of the connections I found a leak at the fittings. They were very tight and tightening more did not help. I removed the connections applied some stop leak sealant and with more tightening It has held so for (2months). Recharged unit with freon.  I find that the new unit uses about 1 amp per hr more than the old one. MichaelNauti Clew 169

It looks like I'm going to have to replace the condensing unit for my
refrigerator.  The compressor is probably fine, and it's the Adler Barbour
Cold Machine.  Before doing this, I want to consider whether I should go
ahead and replace the compressor, too.  Does this seem to be a big enough
unit according to general concensus?
