Hi Tom,
I sent an answer on your response to another thread. Let me know if you
missed it.

No criticism intended, but here are some beginner's tips on Internet
courtesy.

Using ALL CAPS, is the Internet equivalent of shouting and should only be
done in small doses for emphasis.

Also, if you download Google's toolbar into your browser, they have an easy
to use spell checker that makes it easy to clean up your communications and
help avoid confusion. However, it is not a grammar checker so there is no
help when you type "I enjoy scrubbing the wenches in the cockpit" instead of
...."winches"...although in the case of one of our west coast
hooligans, this might not necessarily be a typo. ;~)

Second tongue in cheek humor isn't always as obvious to the recipient as to
the sender, so it is a good idea to use the wink symbol...;~)... when
sending and it is better to assume that wiseacre responses are intended to
be funny rather than insulting. I have observed that short responses often
seem critical when in fact they are simply brief. So, unless the sender is
calling you names, don't take offense as none was likely intended. This is a
very friendly group, but on other lists that I have been on there was no
doubt when the sender was being offensive.

When sending a message it is a good idea to read over what you wrote before
hitting the send button.

If you don't know...look in the Association archives first, there might be a
very nice discussion already available.

If you don't know and can't find it...ask.

You will often get differing opinions...so wait until several people have
answered and figure out which one is best for your situation.
