[C320-list] 320 Propane Tank

Mark,
This is another 'big brother government' regulation to protect us from ourselves. The concept is that the tank can be OVER filled unless it is the 'safe' design. The tank is okay, but the overfill valve (used for longer than I have been alive) MIGHT allow too much propane into the tank if filled by 'yard boys' and then subjected to high temperatures--in which case, the pop-off valve would do its job by releasing the high pressure--thus allowing propane to escape. On the positive side I guess that is okay; however, what is the cost to protect us from ourselves?
You only need to replace the top valve--not the entire tank.

Mark,
I'll be down on the boat later today and can give you the measurements of the tank locker. I was not aware that they changed them. If they are the same size then you should be able to buy a new tank from Catalina or from their supplier. Also I thought that there we're update kits that could be installed to make old tanks compliant.

I have been the owner of a 320 for about 3 years. When I purchased the this
1998 C320 the propane tank valve was not compliant with whatever
regulations the companies that fill propane tanks require. I have been
unable to find a source for a new tank for my boat. It is a more narrow
aluminum tank. Any ideas?
