[C320-list] Flex O Fold prop specs

I am also in my 4th year with a FOF and also have the Perkins. FOF doesn't
typically sell their props by pitch as has been stated in these emails. Ie)
15 x10; 15x9. They size the prop ( have a 15") and preset the pitch measured
in terms of angle. I believe mine was set with a 21 deg pitch, but it was
over pitched, couldn't quite get to max RPM, so I changed the angle. All is
well.

Black smoke can also be due to a plugged or plugging exhaust elbow. You will
see lower RPMs and less power if the plugging get too bad, in any case the
elbow needs to be changed.

I installed a Flex-O-Fold 4 years ago on my 1994 vintage 320. It is a 15X9
I have the Perkins M30 and Hurth transmission...not sure of the gear ratios.

The pitch seems right to me --great performance. I cruise at 2700 RPM...can
get it up faster but generally do not. Boat speed about 6.5 kts.

Does anyone have a Flex O Fold 3 blade folding prop installed on their
320?
I am interested in your blade and pitch settings.
Charles responded that he had a 15 X 9 and was not sure if FOF recommended
the right prop for his boat, I don't know his engine and trans ratio.
After speaking with FOF they recommended a 15 X 10 for my 2004 with a
3GM30F with a 2:21 trans ratio.
They admitted that they didn't have a lot of experience with 320's with
that engine and trans package. I am trying to get "real world" info, as I
would not want to get the wrong prop. I know 15 X 10 is the correct prop
for a Gori, as there are a lot of 320's using them with excellent results.
Please list these items when responding.
  1) FOF prop size and pitch
  2) Engine model
  3) Transmission ratio
  4) Do you feel you have the right size and pitch.
  5) Max rpm at full throttle

  Sorry for the lengthy post,

  Jerry
