[C320-list] TV Mount

Quentin, I and another 320 in our marina also mounted the TV over the
breakers and attached the mount to the wood bulkhead with the galley. This
works great for us, and yes, hides the wires.

Mine is not a digital tuner so I mounted the converter upside down above the
TV, bundled the wires in a black split conduit. I made an outlet box that
sits on the shelf to take the transformers, one from the converter and one
from the powered antenna. The TV plugs into this box as well. The cord from
the box plugs into the wall there. When not on shore power, I simply move
the plug from the box to a small 400W inverter that also sits on the shelf
just over the instrument panel.

If you decided to mount on the head bulkhead, I would use ss fender washers
to spread the load. I wouldn't think a plate would be necessary. However, I
might consider injecting some filled epoxy into the space between the walls.
I would drill through one side only, inject the epoxy then drill straight
through the epoxy and the other surface. But, that's just me.

Quentin,

I put my swing-arm mount with 19" LCD TV above the circuit breakers and in
front of shelf.  The actual arm is attached to the bulkhead on the left of
the breakers and adjacent to the galley.  It hides the stuff on the shelf
and fits nicely in that area.  You can swing it to see from most areas on
the boat.  There is no need for a backing plate and the it looks good.

I could take a picture of mount and TV today when I go down to do our beer
can races.
Please send me your email address off list and I will send the pictures from
my iphone.

I just mounted it fixed to the bulkhead.  It is fine.

I purchased a 19" LCD TV/DVD and a swing-arm mounting bracket.  I plan to
install it on the bulkhead against the head so that the TV can be viewed
from wither settee.  The back plate of this bracket is about 8" x 8" with
four holes.  Originally I was going to drill four holes through the bulkhead
which I understand to be two fibreglass panels and use stainless bolts,
washers and nuts to mount.  However, I'm concerned with the boat heaving in
the waves and the swing-arm essentially adding leverage, thus weight on
these bolts which could tear through the bulkhead.  I noticed in an article
for another boat suggesting using a stainless steel backing plate on the
other (head) side.  I guess this would have to be custom made at a metal
shop.  Is this additional plate inside the head necessary?  Has anyone
install a TV on a swing-arm mount?
