Hi,

At a yanmar diesel class, the tech was asked about tips for changing the oil.

He said, forget the tiny plastic tube down the dipstick hole. "Takes forever, and won't drain out all the oil because it bends all over".

Instead get a foot long piece of 1/4 inch OD (outside diameter) copper tube like. Put a small V notch on the end and put that end in the dipstick hole. It will go straight to the deepest point in the oil pan and will allow a lot more oil to flow. Mate the copper tube with a 1/4" ID plastic tube.

On some other yanmar models the dipstick tube already does this and all you need to do is choose a plastic drain tube that fits OVER the dipstick tube and the oil can be drained.
