still have the Jabsco head and it still works find after 10 plus years   I'm on a slip and we live on the boat for the summer

so it gets plenty of use   I don't have to fill the tanks, we have dockside water pressure on the boat

Question:

Why does Catalina saddle us with the inferior Jabsco in the first place? (Is
the $100 difference that important on a boat that goes for something like
$100,000?)

Also, you guys who use fresh water for flushing must be the same ones who
use a slip and not a mooring and, therefore, fill you water tanks after
every sail. Right?

In my case, the waste hose fit fine, but need new bolt hole, maybe two, but
not four.

This last winter I changed the waste hose anyway, big difference.

For those who switched to the Raritan, was it an easy install -presumably
you had to fit new bolt holes or whatever?

My Jabsco pump cyclinder cracked this summer. Made a temporary repair but
was planning on changing the whole thing this winter.

I'm assuming I have a Jabsco Compact at the moment. So now with all this
quality talk, I'm thinking maybe I should switch to the Raritan Compact.
Big jump in price though and even more to the PHII.

For those who switched, how do you find the pump action of the Raritan
Compact? My kids struggle with the Jabsco, particularly because we just
pour fresh water in the bowl to flush so probably the top part of the pump
dries up a bit. I had good intentions of opening up regularly and re-lubing
but ... so many jobs!
