[C320-list] Engine Muffler Winterizing

Do you have to drain the muffler?  I always run a five gallon bucket of clean water thru first and then put the hose in 2 gallons of antifreeze.  It gets pretty cold here in Chicago also but after 12 years no problem although I did have to replace the muffler this year due to a leak in the intake neck which I assumed was from vibration.
