Our biggest improvement seemed to come when I re-tefloned the fittings to the tank and removed the tank to scrub underneath.
 
Someone further down the E-mail chain suggest that backpressure from accidently hitting the macerator switch may have caused leakage at the fittings. That makes sense to me and it's nearly impossible to tell what's under the tank until you pull it.
