Bruce, I've looked into that too. I found one made by Airmar who makes a lot
of the transducers used on production boats. It is, however, super expensive
which is why I'm going the CruzPro route - see earlier post today.

I've heard there is a new style of sensor that has no moving parts. I
recently did a search but came up with nothing. Seems like it would be an
excellent solution. I have to pull ours almost every sail and while the
sleeve stops the worst of the water flow into the boat it still creates more
mess than I would like. I can see why Allan just doesn't use it.

Hi Paul - Contact Raymarine. I assume you keep it clean? On the mid-Bay
where we are, we would need to clean it each weekend, which is why it has
never seen the water. - Allan

Allan,
I would like to replace the boat speed unit. Mine has not worked correctly
for several years in spite of cleaning, checking, etc.
Do I contact Catalina or do you have another recommendation ?
Thanks,
Paul Weikel

I've looked into installing one, but the diameter of the exhaust is too
mall--at least for my boat. I called the manufacturer and discussed with
hem, but they told me they don't make one that small. I checked into this a
ouple of years ago, so perhaps something has changed??
