Yea probably! Actually, we had a couple that got corroded (salt water from a port). The 4-0 wool buffed it smooth and they've been fine for 6yrs now. :). Could have screwed in a new one too. Whatever.

Barb, All the suggestions--except steelwool--are good (Jeff needed his cup of coffee), Jane and I use a SMALL drop of light oil in the female side of the snaps once a year for all of the snaps on the boat. The split ring inside the snap needs to open and close easily.

Hi,
The boat was splashed this week and yesterday we went there to clean out the cabin, water tanks, etc. I found several of the salon upholstery snaps unsnapped and could not snap them. Are there any secrets to this? Thanks.
