Our  fluxgate (#112) is located under the aft matress first area next to the water. Worked fine there and it is more than three feet away from any metal.  John

Where is the fluxgate located on the early boats (hull 67, 1994)?  Mine 
utopilot acts up when the engine is turned on while the autopilot is engaged. 
he autopilot then just veers off course and begins to steer in random 
irections far off the set heading.  The autopilot is not networked with any 
ther device, so I'll start by looking at the fluxgate.  Alan Holland MI
