I installed a gas-spring which works well until the air temp is above 90 then tends to be too strong -- What type spring did you use -- gas or mechanical? ?source

If you don't have one already, be sure and add one of the spring props to
eep the top up while you rummage. I did and it works great. The spring
naps into the locked position at full open and a gentle push lets it close.
told Gerry it should be standard equipment like on more expensive boats,

Jeff:
We, too, keep charts under the port settee cushions and I ALMOST built
ividers for the nav station. I did take measurements, which I think I just
tossed out this fall, realizing I'd never get around to building dividers.
My excuse: we're now in a condo and I no longer have a home workshop.) I
as thinking of bins, too.
I'd be very interested in what you come up with.

Our boat is on land, covered and sleeping until May.
We removed the Nav station desk and I'm going to make a few modifications
over the winter. Seeing as charts don't fit in the chart table, we keep
our charts under the port cushions. While we have bins to keep it from
becoming a junk hole, it's still a junk hole. I'm going to add real
adjustable dividers to organize the space.
I'm thinking about adding a shallow tool drawer for the few things I'm
always needing to grab in a hurry.
Anyone done anything like this?
Has anyone modified the over-sink storage shelf (the one I bang my head on
> all season)?
