My two cents

Get one with the deep bilge and more importantly the YANMAR engine.

But that is only 1/2 the story. Others are:

Hours on engine
Condition of bildge
Extras such as inverter, radar, chart plotter
Condition of the sails.................
Upkeep

Too many to mention

Hello

I noticed your posting from a few years ago about bilge issues with the
early models of the Cat 320. Sorry to be an unknown showing up in your email
box, and I don't mean to be an intrusion,  but I am looking at a '93 and
hoping to get some advice from a knowledgable owner.

The sole is in poor shape and shows water damage in the center removable
panel.  Also in the front cabin.  Overall the sole is "used".  It is the
lighter colored version (teak for the narrow slats).

How much of a headache have the bilge issues been for you?  Do you have to
do routine practices to manage it?

.

I also understand that blister issues on catalinas got better after '95 when
they started using the new resins.

Am I better off with a '98, or for $10k less, is the '93 a great boat? I
would really appreciate any info you can offer. Both boats are similarly
equipped and in similar condition except for the worn sole and bilge design
in the '93).  I do not know the blister situation on the '93.
