[C320-list] 3 Exhaust elbow questions

Rick,

I've followed this subject for quite some time as I know I am overdue for a
change. I was all prepared to send mine in before winterizing, but Catalina
has created quite a bit of confusion for me. I know your experience has been
the norm for the 'custom' elbows...Hopefully I can get this resolved soon...

Jon,

I thought that Catalina should have known what they built and would have
made them all the same. But they did tell me they needed it. SO....

Paul,

Interestingly enough, Warren and Kent at Catalina are telling me that it is
not necessary for me to send my old elbow to them. I've been going back and
forth with them due to experiences like yours as I fully expected to have to
send it in. I'm still working with them to determine if I do indeed need to
send mine in. I'll keep everyone posted...

Jerry, I think you need two more answers: Did you replace the Catalina
version
or the Yanmar version.
And, which one did you replace it with?

I had a Catalina custom version and replaced it with the same kind.

I paid Catalina 277.93 and that included shipping and heat wrap.

I don't recall the number of hours on the engine but it was only five
years old when I had problems. I first had it wielded and used it two
more years.

I did not pay labor, I replaced it myself. You do have to ship the old
one to Catalina so they can make it just like the old one. You'll also
need to buy a new gasket.

For those of you who have replaced the mixing elbow on the Yanmar 3GM30F,
please
answer these three questions.

1) What price is the elbow part itself?

2) How much is the labor to have it installed, or are you doing it yourself?

3) How many hours do you have on your engine?
