Jim-On my hull 894 (2002) I had a similar Jabsco problem and found that the
rubber valves just below the top of the pump handle had become brittle. I
took off the pump handle and plunger, then I think four screws to remove the
rectangular plate on top and carefully lifted it off to expose the
rectangular rubber valve. Cleaned it and put some Vaseline on it and it
worked for a few more seasons. Last year I bought a Jabsco repair kit and
replaced that and other valves as a precaution and everything works fine.
Most of the other original rubber valves looked fairly good and they were
cleaned, wiped down with a little Vaseline and locked up in a plastic bag
and put in the spares box.

Subject: [C320-list] Jabsco manual head

For the first time since I've owned the 320, I didn't use it for a five
month period due to rotator cuff surgery. When I put it to bed the head
worked fine. Now, after inactivity, it will not draw in raw water. If I
add water into the bowl, if flushes fine.

Maybe some of you who winterize boats experience the same thing after months
of no use. How do you get the head to draw in raw water?

Thanks, Jim Hull #453
