I rode out hurricane Isabel (2003) on a mooring in Lake Ogleton,
Annapolis MD. The mooring was a helix screwed in down to 20 feet with
5/8 inch chain. The normal water depth at this spot is 9 feet and the
chain was 18 feet long to the ball. I had 2 mooring pendants attached to
the ball with shackles. In addition, I added chaffing material to the
pendants.

Boat prep included removing all canvas and sails.

I hooked my laptop up to the instruments and recorded the wind speed and
direction during the storm. Max sustained wind was 68 knots. The storm
surge was 7.5 feet.

No damage. Lots of fun. Will not do it again.
