We have an Avon Bombard 10 foot dinghy. It weighs about 40-50
pounds. Our Honda 8 HP four stroke outboard weighs about 80 pounds.
Fuel and gear is about another 30 pounds for a total of about 160
pounds. We carry all that hanging from our Gauhauer davits (1.25 inch
tubing) on all our coastal cruises. Been up to Bar Harbor, down to
Cape Cod and Islands, out as far as 30 miles, in seas up to 6 feet.
We keep it well secured by using extra lines to prevent the dink
rocking in heavy seas. No problems yet.
