[C320-list] Haul Out

Wow that's someone who is really careful!

I think it a bit overkill to change the oil once in the winter and then
again in the spring.. More important that the oil be changed at the end of
the season so the acids don't eat the metal.

I had a 2YM in my C&C that I changed once per year at the end of the season
for 14 years and that motor was just as strong and in the same shape as the
day I bought it. However heavy use may dictate more frequent changes. I
never put more than 50 per year on it.

Hi Joe and Welcome.

There are several schools of thought on when to change oil. The
Yanmar Owner's Manual says every hundred hours. Some owners like to
change it at haulout and not have acidic oil eating at the metal parts
all Winter. Some like to start the season with fresh oil. One owner I
know, recommends at haulout and again in the Spring...his view is that
oil is cheap compared to diesel repairs.

One thing all agree on is don't go with cheap filters. You can go into
the website tech section and get part numbers.
