How do you know the lengths needed for the replacement pieces? Problem is, my bilge pump is dead. By the way west marine is out of those. I am trying to keep tomorrow me from being mad at today me.

I have done this a couple of times and for me it is hard to say maybe a couple of gallons at that most...much depends on how long it takes you to get the old stuff out. I wrap the leaking side with a an old rag to slow things down ...and have my shop vac ready to catch some of the water as well.......

Key is to have everything ready to go.... have the new pieces measured and cut and all the tools laid out as well..
