[C320-list] documentation

My is glassed to port hull on fiberglass plate.  The doc number is visible when 
the port cockpit locker is opened.  I believe the number has to be 'permanently 
affixed' or craved into a strong element of the vessel (hard to do these days 
with plastic boats).
No issues with boat name on the sides and hailing port on the transom.

Curious as to where people have put the required numbers on a documented vessel. 
Also, has anyone had problems with the vessel ame on the port and starboard hull 
and the home port on the stern? The requirement is that they be in the same 
place.

On my boat it is caused by the stainless steel wear pad being mounted with a
slight overhang on the ...
