[C320-list] folding prop

I bought a used Autoprop a few years ago for my first C320, figuring it
would be fine because it came off another similar boat, but it didn't work
out so great. The reduction ratio on your specific transmission matters in
selecting the correct prop, so it may be worth talking with the manufacturer
you like before shopping. We just replaced the OEM three-blade fixed with a
Martec two blade folder and a stainless shaft. Huge performance difference.
Martec's number is 562-435-4494 and they couldn't be nicer. Email is
martec-props at att.net if you prefer that. Prop walk is a little worse, and I
still sneak slowly into the slip because I don't trust reverse, but forward
is great and sailing performance is noticeably improved. A sailmaker in Long
Beach told me last year that there was no point in buying sails until I got
a "real" prop, and I was still delightfully surprised at the difference.

Good luck with the search!

Jim,
We have the same engine as you as our boat is also a 2000 model I got prices
last year for a feathering prop and the suggestion was 15 x 10 x 3 blade.
However the suggestion also was that I get a stainless steel shaft fitted
instead of the bronze one on the boat as the after market props are heavier
than the 3 blade fixed.
I didn`t fit the new prop, as I had other priorities.
The Catalina 320 in the pen next to ours has a feathering prop on a bronze
shaft and doesn`t seem to have any problems

I have a 2000 C320, Hull 691 with a Yanmar diesel. I am looking to switch to
a folding prop. Can anyone tell me exactly what size, diameter, etc. I need
to be looking for? I see several for sale on-line, but I'm not sure what
will work. Thanks!
