[C320-list] Adjustable backstay

Folks,
Our backstay adjuster was made by replacing the triangle at the top of the
split backstay with a block.
A new cable with a turnbuckle end went from the port side turnbuckle thru
that block and went down to a point below the the bikini and terminated to a
second single block.
Then another turnbuckle terminated end cable went from the stbd turnbuckle
thru that second block and thru a big line stopper ball to terminate at the
top of the 3 sheave block of a 6:1 boom down haul that includes a line
cleat,
Then the bottom end of the 6:1 boom down haul is fastened to the bottom of
the stbd turnbuckle.
This give us 6:1 of the down haul, then 2:1 of the second pulley, then 2:1
at the triangle pulley giving an effective range of 24:1 tension on the
backstay to the jib forestay.
The length of the stbd cable thru second block, thru the stopper, then to the
6:1 pulley is adjusted so that if all the tension of the down haul is
released, the forestay tension is proper for light air sailing.
Am off skiing in Coloardo.
In a few weeks I will try to get the rigger bill of material posted.
