I'm almost in the same situation. However, I've been able to reattach a
broken wheel inside. After 16 seasons, perhaps the plastic has become
brittle.  You may luck out and find someone on the list that has saved their
old wheel after an upgrade.  Raymarine is of no help.  They want you to
upgrade.

For what it's worth, the new course computers are a great improvement from
what I've heard.
