[C320-list] The bilge pump float switch

The wiring on our '94 is undoubtedly different than on yours; because, I
believe your master battery switch is on the stbd side while mine is on the
port on the main panel. On mine, the bilge pump wires all go to the back of
the panel via the space under the galley sink. From there, the power is
attached directly to the battery side of the main switch so it can never be
turned off. The other wires go to the 3-position bilge pump switch on the
panel. That may not be of much help to you. Perhaps someone with a hull
closer to yours can help?

Subject: [C320-list] The bilge pump float switch

Warren, Chris, Brad and anyone else:

Here's the status on my bumbling efforts to replace my bilge pump float
switch:

I removed the defective Rule switch with no problem but I can't trace the
switch's two black wires to the battery. The wires go into a ¾-inch
corrugated black plastic sleeve that disappears into a conduit that leads to
the starboard side of the boat into the battery compartment along with
another, larger sleeve. But the smaller, ¾-inch sleeve doesn't emerge from
the other end of the conduit as far as I can tell.

My questions are these: Where does that sleeve go, and do the two wires
eventually attach to the forward or aft battery? It seems that, at some
point, those two wires apparently merge with something else.

There is, of course, precious little room in that crowded battery
compartment, so it's difficult to trace anything while standing on my head
holding a flashlight.

Sorry to take up your time with such a klutzy problem. (14-2 house wire
doesn't both me at all. But this is something else.)
