Make sure the depression for the handle is not cracked. That was the  
ource of mine leaking. Probably freezing water. Depression would collect  
ainwater and eventually seep through the crack. Repaired once then bought  
 new cover plate.

 Does anyone experience this with their boat. We have continual water  
 ingress
 into the emergency tiller well. It appears to be somehow getting through  
 the
 deck plate. I've replaced the rubber sealer and also the handle o rings.
 Also tried different profile rubber sealer (square and round) To no  
 avail.
 Does anyone have the answer?
