[C320-list] Obsolete propane tank

Over the weekend I took our propane tank to get filled.  The man at the ACE
hardware store said the date  - 1998  - was older than 12 years and after 12
years a tank had to be recertified or replaced.  When I called about having
it recertified I was told it would probably be cheaper to replace it.  So
I'm curious , has anyone else run into this and, if so, what did you do?  If
you purchased a replacement, where did you find the small tank?
