David, the interior wood is varnished with a water based varnish from Target
Coatings. They've changed their formulation over the years so you should
check with them as to which product to use. I've done some refinishing and
found that as long as the finish is not gone and bare wood showing, a light
sanding and recoat works just fine. Target has some advice as to what to
use/not use as far as applicators so start at their web site.

Some of wood is losing color and fading due to sunlight in San Diego.

Would you use a good teak oil or what other product type would be good to
use?

Thanks.
