[C320-list] Catalina Boat Line

Considering the economy I can see why Catalina is making the moves they are.
Going from a production line to build-to-order, and considering the
increasing costs due to reduced volume it's understandable why the price
will be going up. On the upside, one might expect that the attention to
detail and overall quality of the build will be greater.

Catalina is one of the few builders that survived our government's efforts
to increase revenues in the 1980s with the 10% luxury tax. Let's hope they
can survive the current efforts to "save us" and "improve our lives." FDR
gave us "a chicken in every pot." I vote for "a boat in every slip."

Watch for dealers going out of the business. Let's see what the tenor is at
the Annapolis Boat Show.

It must be, in passing the salesperson said that the 320 has been
discontinued, & on the C36 list they said that the 309, 310, 375, 400, & 42
have also been discontinued. I know that the 270 & 28 were discontinued last
year. If this is true, the entry level Catalina will be a 31 footer with a
price I imagine will be in the mid $100's. That's a lot of boat & money for
a beginning sailor.

Looking at the reduced product line list, I saw a number I didn't recognize
 315. I can't find a reference to this on the Catalina website. Is this a
ew "entry level" yacht they will be offering?
