[C320-list] raising main

Fred,
Nothing in the rig changed over winter except I removed the sail for repairs to a batten pocket that needed restitching. The sail is up and the furling works fine so it is unlikely that the tuning has changed. I used to use McLube in the track/on the bolt rope but I either read somewhere or herd from some "expert" that this isn't recommended because it promotes dirt build-up in the track.
How is your halyard routed to get to a winch?
Thanx

I use a winch and it is still a good effort to take it to the top.
Having said that, check the area around the headboard and be sure there is
nothing worn that might be creating even more friction. Also take a close look
at the mast to be sure it's true and isn't been bent slightly from unequal force
on the stays. I'm assuming you've lubed the track.

hard once the sail was about 2/3 of the way up. I'm not set up to run the
halyard through blocks to a winch so it is just a straight pull by hand to raise
the sail. Anybody got ideas?
