[C320-list] Microwave success!

Doug,
That was really easy. This is my third microwave, the second replacement was actually slightly smaller than the opening so had to be secured. This one still had the feet in place, they did not have to be removed because this microwave, with feet, was only 9-1/2" high. I measured back to the front feet once it was in the proper place and drilled through the bottom of the shelf that held the microwave into both front feet. Then I ran 2 screws through the shelf and up into the feet. Since replacement number 3, the one I did yesterday, is such a tight fit I simply tighten the same wood screws until they slightly pierced the soft aluminum bottom frame of the microwave. With the wooden frame that surrounds the opening top and bottom being slightly snug along with the two screws ain't going no where. So pleased with myself for figuring this out; almost bought a toaster oven instead because they are smaller-)

Herb,

How are you holding the Microwave in place when the boat heels? The PO
of my boat replaced it at some point and now there is an ugly rope net
stretched across the fromnt that must be removed to use the oven. Would
really like to solve that one...

Thanks for sharing your story!

It met every dimension but height, it was 10-1/8" high and I had to fit it in 9-7/8" with some wiggle room. I figured at this low price it was worth a try even if it did not work, but it did!

The design of the bottom looked like that even without the legs it would have sufficient air circulation. It fit like a glove and is working great. If Myron is right about the older boats having an opening of 9-5/8" it won' t work without modifying the outside wood frame, but there is plenty of room behind the frame where the space is higher. Can't believe how much effort I put in to find a replacement, but I believe work just fine.
