The spectra strops and lashings to the turning blocks are nice and soft compared to stainless steel shackle or clip hardware. These strops loop through the stern cleats to anchor the turning blocks. The blocks turn well and align very well to the main winches with the "soft shackle" custom strops on the cleats. Hardware for this turning block application seems like it should be soft, yet strong, hence the spectra strops. Easy to stow with the sail and deploy on the cleats when using the Asym.
