[C320-list] Windlass upgrade

Thanks for all the input. I've spoke with Maxwell corporate and a maxwell service center/ distributor in MD. The official answer is that some repair parts are still available for the 500vc but the chain conversion is no longer available. Maxwell has replaced the 500vc with the 500vw, which I am told will fit perfectly in place of our existing component. I've searched the Internet (Craig's list, E-Bay, etc) for the past week and have not found a trace of the chain kit. I have changed out the gear oil, ,cleaned and painted the 500vc and it's going back in the boat tomorrow. Where I am now in NC I really don't need more than a few feet of chain at the anchor. However, when I return to Florida I'm going to pull the 500vc one last time and replace it with the 500vw. I'll be sure to make the old capstan available to the group if anyone wants a spare.

Next project is moving the water tank shutoff valves to under the galley sink. After reading the project description on the website I'm once again very grateful for this wonderful resource.
