[C320-list] Head Fresh Water Plumb

Don,

Hopefully, this information is helpful...

1. I just use my shower head to flush the head with FW. I didn't want to possibly cross-connect my FW supply with the toilet bowl.

2. If you do plumb from a FW tank to the head flush, I would encourage you to install a stand alone FW tank just for that purpose.

3. I tried installing a 3rd 20 gal. FW tank in the aft hull space next to the diesel fuel tank per one of the well written articles on our C320IA website. Bought the Todd Tank and all of the parts, unfortunately for my hull, the tank would not fit in this space between the stern and the rudder tube. Real bummer. The tank was too big by about an inch or so. No way to cut down the rotomolded tank. Smaller sized Todd PE tanks that would fit, are too small to bother with glassing in an installation tray into the hull. This seems like a good location for a small (10 gal or so PE FW tank dedicated to flushing the toilet if you think it is worth the effort.

4. Not sure the PEX at Lowe's is the same dia. as the Whale tubing. I remember something about Metric vs. English sizes. I purchased my PEX tubing and Whale connectors for my washdown pump installation from our local marine store. It all worked great, but I probably paid a "marine store premium."

5. I believe there is some information on our C320IA website about installing a FW tank dedicated to the toilet.

This type of stuff make great winter projects. That is what I intended to do last winter with my aborted "it would not fit my particular C320 MK II hull" 3rd FW tank installtion project.

I have a 20 gal Todd PE tank and the fit kit tank adapters that I have been trying to sell at our local Seattle-based marine exchange. Perhaps I will advertise them for 1/2 price on our C320IA website.

Good luck.

Dave

I expect I will also have to turn on the water pump for use. Is this what is done or am I missing something? I think the Whale fittings are the same as some PEX fittings I have seen at Lowes but haven't looked closely yet. Anybody else done this and what did you use?
