[C320-list] Main Halyard wear

A simple thing is to cut about a foot off of your halyards every few years so the points of wear on the lines are changed. Just be sure you're cutting from the working end. This should prevent the kind of abuse you are seeing. Running rigging should be sized liberally enough to that a foot every few years shouldn't matter.

Mike,

I'm also replacing none for the same reason. I look forward to hearing a solution.

I replaced my Main halyard 3 years ago with 3/8" Sta-set. It is very worn in the area where it is in the clutch when raised. It's to the point where it looks like it could break at any time. Is this a normal rate of wear? I'm going to replace it, any suggestions? Also, can the clutches be adjusted?

Thanks,
Mike P
