[C320-list] Engine Coolant

I am a fairly new boat owner and need some advice on engine  coolant.  The 
coolant reservoir appears empty.   I purchased the  Halvoline brand (per the 
Yanmar technical bulletin).  Do I put the  coolant/distilled water mixture 
directly into the reservoir or  what?
 
My apologies if the question seems ignorant.  I may have earned three  
post-graduate degrees in the social sciences but I am somewhat of a nimrod when  
it comes to mechanical stuff.
