Our local sailing club here on the Chesapeake is working on MOB awareness as
an educational issue. Most of us are couples and the most likely one to go
overboard is the captain. Two factors scare the poop out of me: hypothermia
and lack of awareness. Were I to go overboard and my mate in the cabin, she
might not know I was gone for a good while. I need a device that will set
off an alarm onboard a wearer go over.

If anyone has experience with MOB alarms, the wearable type. I'd like to
hear what you know. There are a bunch of them out there. The fall into
classes based on the method of communication: EPIRB type (satellite,) AIS
alerts, VHF/DSC, and 121.5MHz SAR band. A few use a combination. Any
info/experience will be appreciated.
