Hi,

I had similar trouble with the shower drain punp. Motor was faulty and I was unable to source another motor.
I replaced it and the bilge pump with a Jabsco 50880, easy fit and I am very happy with the performance in
both applications, plus one spare pump!

When I disassembled the pump I found that a small pebble had been caught in one of the valves. So, I'm adding a strainer in front of the intake this spring. I think the new pump came with one but the original installation from Catalina did not have one, so I left it off.
