[C320-list] Halyard up the mast

Somewhere at some time I saw a demonstration of halyard retrieval that went
like this: using a second halyard with a bent coat hanger attached along
with a messenger line, haul the second halyard up the mast and using the
messenger to guide the halyard, and someone nearby with binocs helping,
maneuver the coat hanger to the other halyard.  Once attached, use the
messenger to haul both down.  The bend in the coat hanger will depend on the
intended strategy: grab the shackle or snag the halyard above the knot, or
other approach.  
It could  work.
