[C320-list] Anyone in Nantucket between 7/1/2013 and 7/6/2013?

Hadley is a great, peaceful little harbor, as you know. At one time, you had
to drop the hook. Then a few years ago the Forbes trust put in a lot of
moorings, first come, first served. We've stayed a couple of nights, maybe
three. You can't go ashore, as you know, so there's no water, fuel, etc. If
the moorings are all taken, there is still some room to drop the anchor.
It's difficult to tell when to go in to find a mooring. Sometimes people
leave first thing in the morning, others a midday. It's a crap shoot.

I've always been a white knuckle sailor going through Woods Hole. That can
be a nastty little passage. My first mate takes the wheel and I stand in the
cockpit, chart in hand.

Anyway, it does make a huge difference if you can plan those transits --
Buzzard's Bay and Nantucket Sound -- so as to go with the current.

Good luck on the 7/1 - 7/6 cruise.

jack
