Hi Don,
Am I correct to surmise that you are a saltwater sailor and the corrosion is
due to your environment?
Rick

Subject: [C320-list] Rudder cable clamp replacement

While working on my refrigeration unit this weekend i used the opportunity
of being in that space to inspect the rudder assembly and i got a "nice"
surprise. I have an Epson chain and wire set up and the two cable clamps on
one of the cables where it attaches to the eye bolt (which connects to the
steering disk) were severely corroded to the point of undoubtable future
failure. Oddly the two on the other cable appeared to be just fine. Im
contemplating how I am going to replace these failing cable clamps and
wondered if anyone else had been down this road. I only call this a nice
surprise as I'm truly happy I saw this before it came apart and I found
myself rudderless!!
