In a pervious life I worked in the sailboat mfg'ing industry, 10 years or so. With the exception of multihulls, I have never heard of an intentional designed hull with the rudder deeper then the keel.

Anyone know if that is a fact? Hitting with the rudder first especially with a wing keel in soft mud or sand may actually be an advantage in being able to back off before the wing gets anchored in.
