Bruce,
Not sure about the torque value but there are some excellent articles on adjusting the alignment on our Association's web site.  I really like the one that has you take a large number of measurements followed by some convoluted math and then finally the adjustment.  You may not like that one though as one member described as more complicated than the calculations for a lunar insertion.  Don't know about that but the boat sure is a dream to motor now.
